My Story So Far
I was born in Cape Town, raised in Pretoria until the age of 6, and then raised in Cape Town again to the age of 22. I did a gap year as a school camp facilitator near Stanford (the one close to Hermanus) and after that I pursued a degree in Mathematics at Stellenbosch University. Armed with my degree, I moved to Pretoria as an experiment in independence. For a few years I fell around between different software development jobs, never finding my groove. During a particularly disastrous stint at an ERP firm, I decided to see a career coach … and that is how I discovered my calling.
After finding my calling, I made a concerted effort to start studying the science, psychology and philosophy of living a good life and improving yourself. Part of that effort was my studies at New Insights. I found my journey towards my qualification particularly challenging, but also fulfilling on a level I have never experienced before. After two years of hard work, tremendous personal growth and profound challenges to my worldview, I passed my theory exam with a Meritorious Distinction (the highest grade on offer) and went on to gain certification.
I quit my last job in April 2017, and started a full time practice in May of the same year. I can now proudly say that I am a life coach, and that I help people with problems and challenges similar to the ones I have battled with. I also help people with problems and challenges I have not battled with, and with great success, I might add!
Knowing your personal values are very important in living a meaningful and actualised life. I will help you figure out yours during coaching. Here are 3 of mine:
